Plan your route with FlightPrep.com:
BerlinTempe, Palm Springs

Berlin, MD: KOCB
Autumn is the perfect time to visit this quaint seaside resort town that offers an elegant and inspiring look back in time. This historic village was established in the late 1700’s on a 300-acre tract of land owned by the Burley family. The focus of the early settlement was the Burley Inn on Main Street, which was known then as the Philadelphia Post road. Travelers from Ocean City heading to New York or Philadelphia found the town to be an ideal stop-over, and you will too. The town grew in popularity as a hunting and fishing resort, at one time boasting more hotel rooms than Ocean City.

Berlin was also the location used to film the movie Runaway Bride. To visit this spectacular display of historic architecture, land at the nearby Ocean City Municipal Airport (OCB), and spend some time in this quiet, attractive town. September 22-24 there is the 14th Annual Fiddler’s Convention with free concerts on Main Street, while on November 24 the town will host its annual Arts Night, featuring the works of local artists.

Tempe, AZ: KPHX
This is one of those neat little suburban towns that is often overlooked by its better-known neighbor. Lost in the shadow of nearby Phoenix and yet much closer to the Phoenix Airport (PHX) than the city itself, Tempe is a clever college town that mixes sophisticated eclecticism with youthful exuberance. Tempe is home to Arizona State University and the ASU campus figures prominently in the town’s youthful culture.

Outdoor coffee shops and bars that offer cheap beer in plastic cups sit between fine dining restaurants and even an occasional dance club. The most centrally-located place to stay in town is the Tempe Mission Palms, which is within walking distance of some of the city’s greatest restaurants and features open courtyards and a bright lobby that has a wonderful southwest feel. Two other great hotels include the Twin Palms and the Embassy Suites, both of which are closer to the highway and not much further from the hustle-and-bustle of “downtown” Tempe. One of the better local dining experiences is at the House of Tricks, an outdoor restaurant featuring modern food with a southwest feel. You can spend an afternoon tackling one of the dozens of golf courses in the area.

Palm Springs, CA: KPSP
This is a great place to visit any time of year, and when AOPA comes to town with it's Parade of Planes, where else would you want to be?

Palm Springs is actually seven small towns connected together in a growing desert oasis. The Palm Springs area includes Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, and Cathedral City, La Quinta, Indio and Indian Wells. The warm climate and affluent lifestyle have made this a huge golf mecca, with some of the most famous and most challenging courses being built here. The best restaurants in town are local favorites—Ristorante Mamma Gina in Palm Desert; Shame on the Moon and Piero’s Acqua Pazza in Rancho Mirage.
