Miramonte Resort & Spa

Miramonte Resort & SpaThe address says southern California, but minutes after you arrive at the Miramonte Resort & Spa, you'll imagine that you've been magically transported to the Italian seaside. This wonderful hideaway is just four miles from the Bermuda Dunes airport (UDD) and 11 miles from Palm Springs International (PSP).

The Miramonte offers a spectacular, Mediterranean feel with romantic stone structures, Italian fountains, quiet piazzas, and all of the amenities you would expect of a world-class spa resort. There are more than 200 guest rooms spread among the resort’s 11 acres of olive and citrus trees, with flower and herb gardens dotting the property very much like an Italian villa.

Each of the hotel’s luxurious rooms are decorated in colors that are sympathetic to the hues of the desert in which the resort sits, with many rooms offering private terraces, marble baths, and high-speed wireless Internet access.

Miramonte Resort & SpaTo keep you busy at the resort, there are two 18-hole championship golf courses adjacent to the spa resort, plus the Indian Wells Tennis Garden is right nearby. The resort is also minutes from the famed Palm Springs El Paseo shopping and entertainment district.

Hot air ballooning and the Empire Polo grounds are also only just a short hop from the resort. The Living Desert Zoo and Park is also a favorite nearby attraction among guests.

The resort’s spa, The Well Spa, is a Tuscan-style spa that offers therapies ranging from bagno vino, or wine baths, to Vichy showers on tables built from 100-year-old Acacia cedar. There are even unique, stone-carved “river benches” that allow you to relax in a shallow stream of water. The spa also offers a range of traditional massage, body and wrap therapies.

Dining at the Miramonte, in true Italian fashion, is a feast for all the senses. Your meal at the resort’s signature restaurant, Brissago, starts the experience with spectacular views of the Santa Rosa Mountains from either the main dining room or the wonderful outdoor patio. The meal progresses through fresh seafood, pastas and succulent steaks, all complemented by a carefully-considered wine list.
Know of a great resort or hotel that makes for a perfect home away from home? If so, send us your feedback.

Everything about your stay at this resort, from the minute you unpack your bags, says secluded Tuscan retreat. And yet for pilots in southern California, Miramonte is just a few minute’s flight. And that’s what makes this resort our pick for this month’s resort spotlight.
