The Equinox Resort And Spa
Nestled between the Green and Taconic Mountains on 2,300 acres of open Vermont splendor, the Equinox is a luxurious AAA Four Diamond resort with a heritage as rich as its beauty. This historic property dates back to 1769, when only a humble tavern stood on the majestic grounds. The Marsh Tavern was seized during the Revolutionary War in an act of American Independence, and today serves as one of three restaurants at the resort.
The resort has undergone careful planning and a total of 17 major renovations have been completed, making it an incomparable place of leisure and refinement. Each of the 183 elegantly-appointed guest rooms, suites and townhouses have been impeccably refinished and offer the highest level of luxury. Guest rooms are divided into four categories according to size, location and views. The five presidential suites take guests back in time, each decorated with antique decor.
In addition, the resort offers two unique places to stay. Dormy House is a two-story suite with comfortable style and extravagant amenities. Or for the most private, personal service, the Charles Orvis Inn is the perfect country retreat for business or leisure travelers. This beautifully-restored, 19th-century residence has nine spacious one- and two-bedroom suites with marble baths, fireplaces and full cherry-paneled kitchens, perfect for a romantic evening in.
For the very best in fine dining on the grounds, the Marsh Tavern, Dormy Grill and Colonnade restaurants offer a wide selection of dishes from the traditional to the extravagant.
