Herman Otto built his first golf course here in 1951 for his friends and family. Now 54 years later, this Lewiston, MI resort has grown into an AAA Four-Diamond hideaway with a worldwide reputation.

 With four of the most stunning championship golf courses in the nation, the resort offers golfers an experience truly like no other. Nestled amidst 3,400 acres of unspoiled wilderness, all 72 holes at Garland were designed to “capture the heart and soul of Michigan golf.” The courses are highlighted by lakes, streams, and elevation changes with a variety of breathtaking views meant to inspire golfers of all levels.
Along with the magnificent golf courses, there are also hundreds of miles of lovely trails for nature hikes, horseback rides or mountain biking. Visitors can also canoe, tube or swim in the one of the many streams and pools, or play tennis, volleyball or basketball on the resorts professional sized courts.
 Garland offers a variety of luxurious lodging accommodations. The world famous Main Lodge was designed to embrace a time when life was more enjoyable with its beautifully-crafted cathedral ceilings, stone fireplaces, stained glass windows and elaborate wood carvings.
The Lodge offers three different room styles, each with a view of either the splendid grounds or one of Garland’s beautiful golf courses. Guests can also stay in the lavishly decorated South Wing, with five room styles to choose from. Each room is equipped with a large sitting area, gas log fireplace and either a Jacuzzi tub or spa shower.
