The Hermosa Inn
Located just 15 minutes from Phoenix’ Sky Harbor (PHX), the beautiful Hermosa Inn is a luxury boutique hotel near downtown Phoenix that offers southwest elegance in a relaxing atmosphere.
This resort is an ideal place to stay if you’re visiting Phoenix for business or pleasure. It is an elegant, out-of-the-way little resort that makes you feel special and secluded while only minutes from the hustle and bustle of the downtown Phoenix/Scottsdale area.
Constructed as a private residence in the 1930s, this 35-room hotel sits on six lush acres in the shadow of Camelback Mountain.
All rooms are non-smoking and most offer fireplaces, vaulted ceilings and private patios to while away the afternoon in quiet siesta.
A $12-per day “hospitality fee” is added to your accommodations and covers all tips, a daily continental breakfast and high-speed Internet access, which is available throughout the property.
Being in downtown Phoenix puts you in easy reach of some of Arizona’s most notable links, including the course at the Arizona Biltmore. Outstanding rounds can also be played at the two 18-hole Troon courses at the Talking Stick Golf Club, or on the two worldrenowned courses at Troon North.
The Inn offers in-room massage therapies for its guests, or for the complete spa experience, it has relationships with spas at nearby resorts, including the Arizona Biltmore, the Camelback Inn, and the Royal Palms. Guests at the Inn also have access to a full-service health club just a few minutes from the resort.
Dining is an extraordinary experience at the Hermosa. Visit Lon’s, the Inn’s signature restaurant, which is also one of the few true haciendas in the southwest. The elegantly appointed, adobe main dining room is one of several intimate dining spaces this restaurant offers indoors. There is also dining under the stars on a moonlit patio.

The menu features new American cuisine, offering dishes such as a grilled buffalo strip steak with blue cheese cream, or a twopepper crusted pork tenderloin with wilted cabbage and garlic mashed potatoes.
The charm of the Hermosa Inn is that it isn’t a large, fullservice resort. The Inn is more like staying in someone’s homea home in which you feel welcome and cared for like a guest or a close friend. And that’s what makes the Hermosa Inn our choice for this month’s resort spotlight.
