MICLIGHT
This tiny flight light has three small, green LED lamps that mount on the headsets microphone boom. Because its mounted to the microphone, the light will shine wherever the pilot is looking without any hand adjustment. Because its a green light, it will preserve night vision and not wash out the color on VFR charts, as a red light is prone to do. The unit uses two AA batteries housed in a small pouch that can be clipped onto your waist or placed in a shirt pocket. The light can be added and removed from the headset in minutes. Priced at about $55.
SIGNATURE SERIES GOATSKIN WASP A-2 JACKET
Finally, an A-2 jacket tailored just for women! This Signature Series WASP A-2 is an authentic reproduction of the WWII A-2 made for the WASPs. It is made from the finest naked goatskin leather, and includes all the classic A-2 features: front cargo pockets, snap-down collar, stitched-down epaulets, brass zipper, and one piece back and sleeves. This model features side-entry handwarmer pockets and an inside pocket to store your gear. What makes this jacket different from other A-2s is the fit -- it is made specifically for women. It's roomier where it needs to be, and it features shorter sleeve and body length. Made in the USA exclusively for US Wings, www.uswings.com, and priced at $206. The company also has a vintage jacket of worn, cow-hide leather that was featured in Marie Claire magazine in September 2002. That model is priced at $270.
PHOTON FUSION HEADLAMP
Talk about a red headlight. This forehead-mounted LED is designed for both cockpit work and pre- or postflight ground operations outside the aircraft. Two straps hold the light securely in place, and it has two settings: A four-LED mode for cockpit work that will preserve night vision, and a brilliant, seven-LED setting which provides ample light for everything from a preflight inspection to hiking in the wilderness. Both settings use a night-vision-preserving red light for illumination. Priced at $80.
AIRPLANE SPOTTER PLAYING CARDS
Before the playing cards of Iraqs Most Wanted, there was a deck issued in World War II to help air crews and gunners identify allied and axis aircraft by silhouettes, both in the air and on the ground. Heres your chance to own an authentic-looking reproduction deck of the originals from 1943, a great stocking stuffer for only $5.
