Happy New Year One And All!
If there ever was a reason to celebrate, 2007 and the fourth yearyes, the fourth year-of continuous publication of Aviator's Guide is it.
This year we plan to bring you to more great destinations than ever before, combining up-beat articles on how to use your airplane to enjoy life with solid, hands-on information about how to make your aircraft investment pay off.
As always, we won’t cover any scary accident stories or talk about how to sharpen your skills as a pilot. What we will do is give you lots of great places to go with your airplane, and help you find new ways to use the airplane with your family and friends.
Last year we introduced our New Aviator section, which features articles of interest to new and student pilots. The new section has been very well-received, with more than 400 flight schools currently receiving the publication. Many have also enrolled their students in our New Aviator program, which entitles them to a free, one-year subscription to the publication.
This year we are continuing our partnership with Columbia for the Pilot of The Year event, in which you have your photo appear on your very own cover of this magazine next to the blisteringly-fast Columbia 400.
Just stop by the Columbia booth at Sun 'n Fun, AirVenture, or AOPA Expo to have
your picture taken.
We also want to say a special word of thanks to Lowrance, the sponsor of the Lasting Image photo gallery which appears on our Web site and on the last page of this magazine. Post your photos online at our Web site, and each month, readers will vote on the best photo to appear in the magazine.
Lowrance has generously donated one of their top-of-the-line Airmap 6000C hand-held GPS units that will be awarded to one random winner who submitted their images throughout the year.
And finally, thank you again to our readers and advertisers. Without the support of each of you, we couldn’t publish this magazine. We appreciate your continued support, and look forward to producing a great magazine for you in 2007!
