Carrie Miner is a Glendale, AZ-based writer who for some reason prefers jumping out of airplanes to flying in them. Her work has appeared in Arizona Highways, Hemispheres, Brides and many other national publications. Prior to her first parachute jump, (pictured here with Carrie strapped to jumper Tony Landgren) her six-year-old son advised, Mom, dont wear a dress.
Julie Ball Hambrick is an associate editor at Louisville Magazine who gained an appreciation for flying from her uncle Jim Pirtle, who flew a 1958 Comanche 250 around the world in the 1980s.
Phaedra Hise has written for various magazines and newspapers including Inc, Flying, Forbes ASAP, Glamour and Smithsonian Air & Space. She earned her pilot's license while in college, with her father who believed in full spin training as her CFI. Phaedra, her husband Bill Hargis, and 7-year-old daughter, Lily, fly their V35 Bonanza primarily on the East coast, from Richmond to Boston or Key West and points between.
Our resident pet expert, Janice Rosenberg, is a Chicago-based freelance writer. She has published more than 500 non-fiction articles and a number of short stories. Her work has appeared in Chicagos North Shore magazine, Advertising Age, American Baby, Good Housekeeping, Womans Day and Worth. Janice enjoys flying around the country with her husband, who pilots their Cessna 210, and their German Shepherd, Reggie. The three routinely fly from Chicago to their second home in beautiful Moab, Utah.
